PET

A Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan is an imaging test that helps to check the diseases such as cancer, hearth problems and brain disorders. The scan uses a special dye that has radioactive tracers. These tracers are injected into a vein in the arm, then organs and tissues absorb the tracer. When highlighted under a PET scanner, the tracers help the doctor to see how well organs and tissues are working. It also measures important body functions, such as blood flow, oxygen use, and sugar metabolism.
